Bollywood stars to walk the ramp at Jaipur International Fashion Week

Jaipur International Fashion Week that kick  started on February 28, at Hotel Clarks Amer, will witness Pakistani actress Veena Malik with Bollywood stars Geeta Basra, Nisha Kothari and Sayali Bhagat walk the ramp for some of the participating designers.

Nisha will be Aruna’s showstopper. “I wanted somebody from Rajasthan to walk down for me – someone who can connect well with my theme. And I found Nisha, who originally hails from Rajasthan to be a perfect choice to display my traditional, yet contemporary collection based on royal theme,” says Aruna.

Former Miss India and actress, Sayali Bhagat will walk the ramp as the showstopper for Jaipur-based designer Mohit Falod. And Riaz Gangji has zeroed in on the controversial Pakistani starlet Veena Malik as his showstopper. Veena, who is also all set to appear in a swayamvar themed reality show, will be presenting Riaz’s bridal collection. “She has been my brand ambassador since a year now and has walked the ramp for me several times. I will dress her up in a multi-coloured lehenga studded with crystals and embedded with Meenakari and zardosi work,” says Gangji, who also showcased in JIFW 2010.

And now, for designer Archana Kochhar – many names were being speculated as being her showstopper, but it will now be Geeta Basra who will be her showstopper. “Geeta will be my showstopper presenting my bridal resort wear collection at the JIFW. I have decided to give her a beautiful sand coloured sari to wear. She has got the perfect figure for a sari,” says Kochhar.

Also, this edition of the fashion week will see participation from three local designers, among others and two international designers – Lida O’Reily from Mauritius and Yolandra Aluwihare from Sri Lanka.
