Rajasthan is known for its elegant taste when it comes to fashion and styling. Tie-and dye (bandhani), colour-blocking, jodhpuri pants, achkans, bandh-galas, mojaris (that inspired ballerina flats) are among many things that made their way from Rajasthan to International runways.
The Marriott, Jaipur witnessed a 3-day extravaganza recently that celebrated the fashonist spirits of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Fashion Week-2012 featured collections of 24-30 renowned designers with a team of 30 top models across the country, giving a chance to upcoming talents as well.
Among those who showcased, Jaipur-based Kirti Rathore and the Designer duo, Rohit-Abhishek caught attention of many.
Kirti Rathore presented a line of jodhpuri achkans and supported an NGO- RAYS- Asha ki ek kiran, as the show stopper, Vivek Oberoi, walked the ramp with HIV positive kids from the organization.

Rohit-Abhishek showcased their collection, ‘The Dance of Life’ and made Rajasthan Royals Players walk to their tunes.

The grand finale of the fashion week was presented by designer Vikram Phadnis, whose collection was glamorous, chic and stylish. His collection truly showed how Indian sensibilities can be gracefully merged with western moods.
With these Jaipur-based designers basking in lime-light, the Rajasthan Fashion Week 2012 was a perfect amalgamation of a regal cultural tradition and modern tailored perfection.
