Jaipur Lit Fest turns 7 today!

Today, it turns seven and looks even more bright, colourful and intellectual with the previous year! We are talking about the seventh edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival, which begins today at Diggi Palace.

Fashion.jpg 1Just before you make up your mind to visit it, please know that at the Jaipur Literature Festival, fashion walks the ramp of literature! What we mean is, one better be ready to encounter chic and crisply dressed up people all around. So while you are googling books, look up for some dressing-up-for-a-literary-occassion tips too 😉

Inaugurated by Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva and the Keynote Address by Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, the literature festival has over 250 authors and 175 sessions to host. The theme of this festival has five days of debate and discussion, from fiction to biography, history to music, theatre and Bollywood to media, and social agendas, set across more than one venue in a very cultural yet liberating setting!

If speakers like Indrajit Hazra, playwright and journalist Cyrus Mistry, Indian TV anchor and journalist Ravish Kumar, fashion designer and restauranteur Bina Ramani, boxer and winner of an Olympic bronze, Mary Kom and many, many more are flying into the Pink city from all over the world, one can safely say, there’s something for everyone! Exactly that’s why there are fans of literature and music flying in too from all over the country and the world, to be a part of the seventh edition of the JLF. So there are chances of you running into a lot of non-localites, maybe ex-classmates, or once upon a time co-workers, you know.

Music at Jaipur Literature Festival could never take a back seat. Infact, it has a special venue reserved exclusively for the lovers of music. At Clarks Amer hotel, starting today from 19:30 hrs, the Music Line-Up would go on till January 20th; you can book the tickets online at kyazoonga.com!
