Jaipurites look forward for something new and exciting every time and in this month of March, JKK will be marching with its new face during ‘NAVRAS’
As we are aware that our very own destination Jawahar Kala Kendra– where something or the other is always happening-drama festivals, music performances, art exhibitions, craft fairs, workshops, discussions and seminars or films and film screenings is getting a massive make over and will be equipped with state of the art technology.
After its recent revamp, JKK will become ‘NAV’ that implies new in true aesthetic sense and thus commencing with ‘NAVRAS’, which is the festival of Performing Arts to be held between March 15 to March 22, 2016
The fest will present blend of concoction of folk performances by dancers, musicians, and vocalist from across India. During the festival, cultural and theatre programmes will include ‘The Manganiyar Seduction’ (directed by Roysten Abel); ‘Sharira’ (choreographed by Chandralekha); William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ (directed by Ratan Thiyam).

To add more charm morning ragas will also be the part of the festival.
March 19 at 7.30 am, ragas will be performed by Pandit Harish Tiwari
March 20, there will be a classical performance on Sitar by Pandit Kushal Das
The festival will kick off on March 15 with an ‘Architectural Walk’.
Other than the inaugural event of the ‘Navras’ – ‘The Manganiyar Seduction’, ‘Architectural Walk’ and the morning ragas on 19 and 20 March, all performances will be ticketed. The tickets will be available at JKK from 12 March onwards from 9.30 am to 6 pm.
