Tale of The Albert Hall

albert dreamy

Come forth to hear my tale
I’m the oldest museum in the state
Founded by the royal clan
Aren’t you wondering who I am?

During the times of Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh
My foundation was laid
But it was his son Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh
Who decided my fate

Christened after the Prince of Wales
It’s been 140 years till date
His name was Prince Albert Edward, who visited the state
And by now, I am pretty sure you know my name

The king actually wanted me to be a Town Hall
But his son decided that I’ll be a museum, The Albert Hall

albert-hall-rtb-new

In telling you this I take great pride
Ram Niwas Garden is where I reside
With lush green lawns on both my sides
I’ll tell you about a friend and take you on a ride

It was quite younger to me and its name was Kiran Cafe
About the served delicacies, I could really write an essay
Though this one didn’t live for very long
We still remember it like an old beautiful song

albert-hall-night

To describe me in a nutshell
I’m like an old mystery book on your shelf
With lots of secrets and stories untold
That are more than centuries old

Every day I witness a huge crowd
Be it the traffic, or the masses roaming around
Some are there to admire my huge structure
And for some it’s my Indo-Saracenic architecture

Home to many distinct artifacts
Visitors always keep me jam-packed
From paintings and metal sculptures
To colorful crystals and antiques depicting different culture

I’ve got it all under one roof
Come see it yourself to get the proof
And while The Egyptian Mummy is the most famous of all
There are things to witness even outside my walls

Daily hundreds of pigeons gather around me
To recite the stories of those I can’t see
It’s a beautiful relation that we share
And to give it a name, it won’t be fair

33 Albert Hall

This is all I can say about me
For more you’ll have to visit and see
Come alone or bring someone, totally your call
But don’t forget that I’m waiting, says The Albert Hall

A Closer Look at What Stands Behind the Circles in Jaipur

The roads take us from one place to another and those same roads connect us to certain famous circles of Jaipur. Have you ever wondered what treasures of past they hold within themselves.

Let us understand what these circles reflect:

Statue Circle – Reminiscent of the rich history of Jaipur and also located in the heart of the city, the Statue Circle was built to pay tribute to Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II who is the founder of the city. The statue is built in white marble facing Pink City. The king was fond of Astrology and hence statue circle illustrates the king holding an astrological diagram. When the fountains and lights illuminates the whole place, the beauty in itself gets personified.

Gandhi Circle – Located on Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg is Gandhi Circle which has a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. This circle has its own charm and is an important landmark for city people. The circle looks even more spectacular with all the plants that surround it and when it is illuminated at night with lights with all the vehicles passing by, the statue looks glorious.

Jawahar Circle – Said to be the biggest circular park in Asia developed on the highway is located on the Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. The diameter of the circular park measures 452 meters giving enough space to walk, jog, and exercise. The circle is surrounded by various kiosks offering eatables for people.  Also, there is a musical fountain that can be enjoyed by the visitors.

Trimurti Circle – The circle consists of three statues of policemen which was built in the memory of those who sacrificed their lives. Every year, an event is organized here in the memory of those patriots who lose their lives for their countrymen.

Ambedkar Circle – The circle showcases a historical relevance with B.R. Ambedkar. One of the roads from circle leads us to Vidhan Sabha and Amar Jawan Jyoti. Looking at the splendid view of Vidhan Sabha surely arises a feeling of patriotism to which every Jaipurite can easily connect, right?

A Heartfelt Tribute to the Queen Of Ranthambore- Machali

Ranthambore amongst all its emerald greens had a treasure hidden in its lap. This was a famous tigress called Machali. She was called Machali because of the fish like formation near her left eye. She wasn’t just the queen of the Jungle but was also a queen of many hearts. But on 18th August, 2016, she breathed her last at the age of 20.

Machali

Her graceful “cat” walk, loud roar, beautifully striped body and her perfect palm marks made a lot of people drool over her. On World Photography Day, Jaipur Beat pays tribute to the World’s most photographed tigress, Machali.

IMG_6304cc copy

This incredible creature was known by many names such as Queen of Ranthambore, Croc Slayer, and Lady of Lakes etc. She was beautiful and lived on her own terms. From visitors to photographers, she attracted everyone’s unflinching attention towards her. Lucky were those who were able to have a glance at her.

Machali1

And now she is gone leaving everything behind, her green abode, her family and her admirers. Ranthambore of today owes everything to her.. Everything. and all we are left to say is that:

9 Perks of having a brother

Brothers are so annoying and dominating. They’re always fighting over something or the other. Be it over the TV channel, for sitting in the passenger seat or over that last piece of chocolate. It’s so difficult to tolerate them. But then, you really can’t live without them. Can you? If one of you moves out of the city, you know you are going to miss not only the fights but also those cute little moments that you both have shared. So we’ve listed out a few things that make us grateful to have them as our brother.

1.  Permission Problem? Solved

Want to go out for that party with your friends but your parents won’t allow? That’s when your brother steps in and convinces your parents to let you go. “Aaj Aaj jaane do papa, time pe aa jayegi !!”

permission

  1. Secret Keeper

There are times when you have so much going on in your life and you are not able to share it with anyone. But somehow your brother manages to get it out of your system. Be it your boyfriend problem, career problem or maybe some problem at school, he’s always there to listen. And it’s an unspoken pact “Kisi ko mat batana” because it’s something between just the two of you.

secrettt

  1. Movie Buddies

He’s the perfect movie buddy. You watch lame movies together, dance around like retards, laugh your ass off and still not get judged for it.

  1. Is some guy bothering you?  *Bhaiiii*

Have you ever been stalked by a guy? Your bhai is the first person with whom you’ll be sharing it with. And your work is done. Now it’s his duty to keep that stalker far, far away from you.

  1. Late night snack party

He’ll never say no to a midnight treat. Maggie, Bread n Bhujiya , Ice Creams,  these are our all time favorite midnight snacks. But the only problem is ‘Kitchen se kaun layega?’

Ranbir-Kapoor-and-Gunjan-Malhotra

  1. Wearing his long t-shirts and hoodies

One of the perks of having a brother, be it elder or younger, is that after a point of time you can wear his long t-shirts and hoodies and he won’t stop cribbing about it, which makes us want to do it all the more.  😉

hoodie

  1. Gadget Guru

In some of our cases, the only reason we know anything about gadgets is because of our brothers. Want to buy a new phone, laptop, hard disk or be it anything? You’ll ask your brother even before you Google it.

gadget

  1. “How dare you say that about my brother?”

You consider it your birth right to call him donkey, monkey and all sorts of names but the moment a third person starts insulting your brother, the person has to run for his life. After all, you’re the only one who’s allowed to insult your brother and no one else.

namess

  1. Getting jealous of his friends.

Admit it, we’ve all been jealous of our brother’s friends because we’re not the only one with whom he shares his feelings, thoughts or secrets. We learn to accept this fact that we’re not his only friend, but it does hurt. After all, sharing your best friend isn’t easy.

jaane-tu

So this is for all the brothers out there. We might not say it often, but we love you. Happy Rakshabandhan!  😀
