A Heartfelt Tribute to the Queen Of Ranthambore- Machali

Ranthambore amongst all its emerald greens had a treasure hidden in its lap. This was a famous tigress called Machali. She was called Machali because of the fish like formation near her left eye. She wasn’t just the queen of the Jungle but was also a queen of many hearts. But on 18th August, 2016, she breathed her last at the age of 20.

Machali

Her graceful “cat” walk, loud roar, beautifully striped body and her perfect palm marks made a lot of people drool over her. On World Photography Day, Jaipur Beat pays tribute to the World’s most photographed tigress, Machali.

This incredible creature was known by many names such as Queen of Ranthambore, Croc Slayer, and Lady of Lakes etc. She was beautiful and lived on her own terms. From visitors to photographers, she attracted everyone’s unflinching attention towards her. Lucky were those who were able to have a glance at her.

And now she is gone leaving everything behind, her green abode, her family and her admirers. Ranthambore of today owes everything to her.. Everything. and all we are left to say is that:
