7 Events to Attend in December.

Hello Jaipur,
December is here already. As the mercury drops and the year, 2016 get ready to wrap itself, there are still many- a- treats in store for you this December. From School fairs to poetry, art, marathons and exhibitions thrown into the heady mix, the month promises to be an exciting one. To make sure that you don’t miss out on some of the really happening do’s that the city has to offer, we are here with our own little list just for you.

1. Rajasthan Heritage Week
Date : 30th November -04th December 2016
Venue : Diggi Palace, Jaipur

RFW is featuring 39 of Rajasthan’s Master weavers and textile artisans and collaborating with India’s top designers in a 5-day Fashion, Exhibition and alliances extravaganza. This exciting event has been put together by Khadi Board, Government of Rajasthan and Prasad Bidapa to bring together an important dialogue between luxury and heritage of textiles. Indigenous weaves, natural dyes, hand-woven, organic and age-old techniques meets alternate fashion movement. With the likes of Rohit Bal, Raghavendra Rathore, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Urvashi Kaur, Swati Ubroi and many more participating in the event, a craft bazaar during the day showcasing the works of these Master craftsmen and so much more, this event promises to give every fashion week in the country a run for their money! Can’t give this a miss, Jaipur !

Date : 3rd December, 9 pm
Venue : Maskaa talk, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur

If you fancy yourself as a home-grown comedian or a good dose of laughter truly makes your day then take a shot at being a stand-up comic or enjoy the fun filled event at Komedy Korner’s open Mic night #11. Some music, talent on the rocks and awesome food will also be on the menu to add sparkle your evening. This indigenous band of Stand-ups sure seem to impress us.

3. Poetry Session 11- Poetry and Folk Music
Date :4th December, 04.30 pm
Venue : Thirsty Owl, Vaishali Nagar Circle, Jaipur

Now this event truly celebrates a quintessential Jaipur Winter afternoon. An open terrace, a hot steaming cup of coffee and Rajasthani Folk artists performing live in the glorious winter sun & refreshing winter breeze makes for one great Sunday afternoon. This is an interesting platform for local as well as amateur poets and writers to come forth and celebrate folk music and poetry together as a participant or just basking in the sun as an audience if you fancy a day of recitals and literature. It is a free event requiring no prior registration. We say, Go Jaipur spruce up your hidden talent and rub some local’Literati’ shoulders before the Jaipur Lit Festival is upon us in January

4. RBMHS Winter Carnival
Date :4th December , 2.30-8.30 pm
Venue : Rukmani Birla Modern High School, Gopal pura bypass ,Jaipur.

Are you one of those who feels all set to go down the lane of nostalgia or the blues come winters? Some very exciting winter school fairs and carnivals are here to step up the season and have fun a-plenty! It’s Alice in wonderland moment for you. Go down the rabbit hole, dip in the wonderland , explore an adventurous journey through the circus, or enjoy your day with dancing, clowns and merry makers, Ferris wheel and Columbus, DJ, raffle and so much more!  Jaa Jaipur, Jaa; unleash that child in you. 😀

5. Kahaani Festival
Date :5th -6th December, 9 am to 4 pm
Venue : Jayshree Periwel International School, Mahapura, Jaipur

India has been a land of storytelling, with many of its traditions, history and culture richly woven in the stories , folk songs, and folklores from the past and passed on thus. This beautiful tradition and art has created many a fond memories and has always been an ‘Art form’, a pre-cursor to ‘nautanki’ or ‘tamasha’. The ‘Kahaani’ Festival aims to enchant and empower families as they explore a multitude of narrative weaves through oral and written storytelling, theater, music and puppet shows, and activities such as workshops and illustrations. Go join in this beautiful and highly creative event and come back transformed. This event is open to children as well as adults.

6. Jaipur Art Summit
Date :7th -11th December, 11am to 6 pm
Venue : Ravindra Manch, Jaipur

With over 300 Artworks from over 25 countries, workshops and demonstrations of all traditional art forms of India, movie screening, talks, discussions, workshops and discussions, these 5 days are jam-packed with the most exhilarating energy. See who’s who of Art grace the culturally laden and beautiful Pink City and collaborate with the very unique that the World has to offer.

7. Pink City Marathon
Date : 18th dec, 6 am to 10 pm
Venue : Albert hall, Jaipur
Run for a Cause or a few in this case. ‘Beti Bachao, Swachch Bharat and Save water as its epicenter of causes as well as Ranvijay as its brand ambassador, the Pink city Marathon, an International Running Event will consist of a 5km Dream Run and Half Marathon of 21KM. Fitness and its encouragement remain the prime motto. The Idea behind is to bring thousands of people from different cultures united by this one challenge. Whether you run, walk or cheer from the sidelines, this is going to be Jaipur’s Biggest organized Marathon Event. Be part of the Pink City Marathon 2016!
