Pink City is set for yet another festive season where global art family and friends will unite under one roof at Jaipur Art Summit. Curated by eminent artists and experts, the 5th Edition of Jaipur Art Summit shall be a celebration of contemporary art work.
Disseminated through exhibitions, installations, talks, art performances, workshops, films and open forums, about 40 countries will be participating with the focus on contemporary art. Various shows and activities will showcase the works of masters and emerging artists who have and are creating a new visual language globally. This edition will create a platform for the practitioners and aficionados of art to connect, create and cognize different dimensions of old and new art world.
“Avant-garde” will showcase works of individual artists whose works reflect contemporary visual concerns & practices, in Indian Contemporary Art. “Where The Mind Is Without Fear: Behind the Scenes” displays the works of young student artists from the premier art institutions of the country. “Across Dimensions” portrays works of individuals who love to experiment with unusual mediums and materials to create large size installations. A collaboration between the Rajasthan and Australia artists came up with some very unique creations that is being displayed under the “Sisters Sangam”. An assorted mix of different forms, mediums and styles of artworks are being showcased under “Melange”. Besides these, there shall be three artist camps of Masters, Young artists and Calligraphers from across the globe, which gives people an opportunity to look into national and international art trends in socio-cultural context. The “Navratna” show of master artisans is dedicated to Indian crafts exploring the traditional art vis a vis contemporary art. “Body/ Space: Seeing through Cultural Topographies” will have art performances by the artists from across the globe that will revisit the history of Pink City through contemporary art.
This is not all, various workshops for young students will be organized to make this event more interesting. Live demonstrations by senior art practitioners on unique contemporary art forms would be an added learning. Evening cultural performances, unorthodox film screening and one-on-one interactions with the directors will create and immersive experience.
