Vanquished – A poetry on Exam Stress

vanquished.jpg

I can almost feel the fear taking in my confidence one piece at once, and then another, and again.

I’m scared to the core, because my friend, this ain’t no game.

The pressure is high, the same for everyone.

It’s as if they’ve already assumed we’re all lumps of coal just racing to turn into diamonds.

Ignored, were the rare flowers that gathered enough courage to bloom, only to be wilted away by the heat of this conservative society.

Ignored, were the tiny droplets that could have caused a storm if they wanted to, but dried away with the harsh winds of this conservative society.

Ignored, were the bright flames that could have set the world on fire if they wanted to, but were extinguished by the sudden blow of this conservative society.

Ignored, were dreams that could have changed this world into a fairytale, but were imprisoned by the evil step mothers of this conservative society.

Guest Post by Mihika- Mihika is a student of Class Xth Rukmani Birla Modern High School Jaipur, who is also appearing for her first board examinations. Through this poetry she has expressed the thoughts clouding in her mind.
