Places with such occurrences over the period of time gained a reputation of being haunted. Undoubtedly, some of these places give you a sense of fright and anxiety. Entering such places gives you chills running down your spines. But our kind’s impeccable curiosity and desire to uncover such mysteries make these places popular around the globe.
Bhangarh is one such place in Rajasthan. A beautiful small town amidst the lush green Aravali hills with such a picturesque and serene landscape that will make you forget every story of horror you have ever heard about Bhangarh. Situated 80 km away from Jaipur in Alwar district, Bhangarh is a place with beauty unmatched.
Bhangarh fort unsurprisingly has stayed in the list of world’s most haunted places for quite some time now. The town has a numerous legends associated to it. As a legend goes, a tantrik (sorcerer) fell for the Princess of Bhangarh and turned to black magic to spell a potion for her. The Princess found out, and threw that potion on a rock which in turn killed the tantrik. But the dying tantrik cursed the city to perish. After a while there was a battle and the Princess along with most of the inhabitants was killed, those who remained fled the city. All that remains is the ruins since then. People believe that the dead still walk among the ruins of Bhangarh.
The fort has gained such reputation that no one is allowed to stay in Bhangarh after dusk. Visitors and locals have been narrating their strange and experiences, from hearing distant cries to some peculiar and bizarre phenomenon, which makes the place very spooky and feared of. It is often said that the place has a weird aura and gives you some seriously weird vibes.
Though we’ve all heard stories of horror; there is another side to Bhangarh. With its untouched ruins and unadulterated natural scenery, it gives you such an intimate experience with nature that you will always want to come back to this place if spending time in the calm labyrinth of nature is what gives you peace of mind. Since no paranormal casualties have been reported so far, we conclude it is safe to visit Bhangarh this monsoon.
