Chai is an integral part of our homes, in fact, our lives. If you’re a non-chai drinker your family and friends are the ones who question your existence because you haven’t tried it yet. Well, we think you are missing onto something really nice and should give it a try immediately because it is literally heaven on earth (no jokes!). Even though a 365-day pleasure, drinking chai during rains is a romantic experience on a whole new level especially with the one we are going to tell you about.
In this delightful monsoon weather, we have found a new space for Jaipur’s tea lovers ‘Sikora’ that has recently opened up in Raja Park. Whenever you are in a mood to soak in the musical lyrics with a sip of tea this tea hub is the place to be. The word Sikora entices us to know more about that and we came to know that it is actually a mud vessel or Kulhar which is heated in the tandoor. Sounds interesting!
Once the kulhar is boiling hot, the chai is poured in it so as to blend in the flavours. Ultimately, the chai is poured into a fresh kulhar and given to you. This is what that gives the chai a unique taste. Along with fascinating flavours of chais like Tandoori, Masala, Cardamom, Ginger, Tulsi, Rose, Zafran chai and Green tea, this tea hub serves a variety of luscious street food also that includes Kesar ki Jalebi, Dal Pakwan, Poha to Vada Pao, Maggi, French Fries.
The two varieties that we tasted were Rose Chai & Zafran Chai- Cooked with rose petals, almonds, and cashew nuts. The flavour was unique and fresh. It smelled amazing and was a genuine delight to have in such a breezy weather. Similarly, the Zafran Chai has an extremely comforting and subtle flavour of saffron and we totally enjoyed drinking it.
You can’t have Chai alone so we tried their amazing Misal Pao
Missle Pao is not very common and not easily available in Jaipur. Here the preparation of the same was quite authentic and we truly loved the thick layers of butter on the pao ☺
So, this monsoon if you are out and enjoying the weather with friends or family and looking for Garma garam Kulhad Ki Chai, along with some tasty snack this is a place to go.
