Jaipur ! The name itself has a feeling attached to it. The vibrant colours, the rich culture, the famous monuments, and what not. The city is filled with anything and everything. Since Jaipur has a history attached to it and with history we always get reminded of our very favourite Albert Hall Museum. So today, we’re here to give you some quick facts about Albert Hall, that recently completed 133 years of its existence.
– Did you know that Albert Hall’s fate was decided after laying down its foundation stone in 1876? Yes ! When the Prince of Wales, Albert Edward visited Jaipur back in 1876 it was supposed to act as a Government Building as Madho Singh I had planned. But it had something else in its destiny. Finally after a decade, Albert Hall was built and declared to be used as the State Museum that you see standing tall near Ram Niwas Garden.
– The style that you see and admire every day and night while passing through the beauteous Albert Hall, is Indo- Saracenic form of architecture that has now become a source of reference for varied classical Indian styles of design.
– While you take a look at the corridors of the Museum, you will be surprised to see that they are decorated with murals that portray Chinese, European, Egyptian, Greek and Babylonian civilizations. If you want to get the essence of the rich architectural heritage, this is the place to be at!
– There are not many that knows about this, but Albert Hall Museum in the past year’s Durga Pooja was replicated at Jharpada Pandal in Odisha ! Bewildered to hear this, but it is true.
– One of the greatest authors since time immemorial, Rudyard Kipling after seeing the magnetizing beauty of Albert Hall Museum said, “It is now a rebuke to all other museums in India from Calcutta downwards”.
We’re sure once you visit this splendor, you will be spellbound with the kit of pigeons flying around and the sight of horse cart standing right in front of the Museum that forms a perfect frame for your next Instagram post.
Get ready to fill your Instagram feed with some beautiful pictures of the Museum on your next visit to Jaipur 😀

Most travelers heading to Jaipur, are aware of the fact that Rajasthani dishes are awesome, but most, don’t have a local friend or relative to tell them exactly what to try. We have made a guide just for you folks who are traveling to Jaipur, in a hope that you get to try everything we locals’ love, and why Rajasthan, is called a foodie’s paradise.
With so many upbeat cafes and restaurants, it is confusing for travelers what to eat in Jaipur. Here’s a quick guide byJaipur Beat.
Laal maas is a delectable dishoriginated from Rajasthan itself, you may find it some places outside of Rajasthan too, but the authentic taste of Rajasthan is hard to copy. The dish is eaten with Indian Breads (Bajra roti, Bejad Roti, Jungli roti, Roomali roti, and whatnot).
This delectable dessert, also available topped with malai, is something we could die for. Ghewar is the epitome of all desserts, and remain the number one dessert of choice for everyone in Rajasthan.
Mirch ke Tapore, Besan Mirch
These savory pickles are a feat in their own. Served as something like a side and achar, these are sure to take your breath away. Mirch Tapore and Besan Mirch resembles a lot in the green chili part but tastes worlds apart. Best thing undeniably is you will probably get both in every Rajasthani thali you order.
Dal, Bati and Churma
The famous trio of Rajasthani cuisine, the humblest of them all, the most eaten too we guess. There are various Bati’s in the scene, there’s a Plain Bati, a Masala Bati, a Keema bati and many more. The Churma comes in 4 or 5 varieties as well, there’s simply nothing like Churma when it comes to Rajasthani desserts.
Bajra roti, Bejad roti.
These Indian Breads add up on a different level to taste when combined with the famous flavorful Rajasthani dishes. For records, Bejad roti tastes heavenly with Aloo Pyaaz sabzi and Lasaan ki chutney and is a must try.
Aloo Pyaaz ki sabji and Lasaan ki Chutney
Aloo Pyaaz ki Sabji is the real-life manifestation of heaven. Even though Lasaan ki chutney is something you can probably associate with any dish, it just adds a level of sophistication to Aloo Pyaaz’s taste. The magic of this chutney is undeniable, that’s quite the reason you’ll pretty much find it in every Rajasthani thali and being sold loose in the shops too. It may seem easy to make at home, but the authentic Rajasthani Lasaan ki chutney is just too difficult to recreate.
Kachoris, Mirch vada, Samosas
We believe these three should be announced as the national breakfast and evening snack of India. The Rajasthani’s love for these is very very strong. The world-famous Kota kachori is something you’ll only find in Rajasthan, while authentic Samosas and Mirchi Vadas are hard to find outside Rajasthan. We bet you have all grown up eating these three on every Sunday morning, because we, definitely did.
Bajre ki khichdi
Bajre is khichdi is khichdi reinvented by Rajasthanisto taste a million times better, it’s served with jaggery, white butter and loads of ghee. Bajre ki khichdi is basically a winter dish and will keep you warm all winters long, all while making your taste buds dance.
This is only half the list and the next part is coming very soon. Till then, keep exploring and keep eating. 😉

This valentine may not be the ideal day to plan an over the board romantic date since it falls on Thursday! But don’t let that stop you from showing your partner a good time. Wondering what special can you do on a week day? We have got you some ideas that can make your Valentine’s Day in pink city make the cut. Checkithow !
For married couples and those living in, nothing can beat the intimacy of breakfast in bed. Prepare a healthy meal of things your partner loves. Decorate it nicely on a tray with a good morning note and some coffee or juice. A healthy kick start is best before the cheat meals that await you later in the day.
For those young love birds who live apart, a nice morning walk will suffice. Go to her place, wake her up with a sweet call, tell her to come down and walk along the streets. The fresh morning breeze, chirping of birds and motor sounds of the rising city will make the perfect companions for you two.
If you can arrange a car, then it’s even better. Take them on a drive to Jal Mahal or along the Central Park, the two prime locations of Jaipur that look absolutely stunning in the morning. Go another mile and take them on a long drive to Nahargarh Fort, watch the sunrise bring the whole city to life which is mesmerizing to watch. Bring a hot insulated mug of coffee and Maggi for a cozy breakfast. Share your food and spend some quality time in quiet together. Go home and come back to drop them off at work. Before they leave, gift them a nice outfit for dinner later in the evening. Don’t let them open the gift until later. Let the anticipation build for good!
At lunch, arrange for a dessert to be delivered at their desk. Order anything sweet they like. It can be a sweet, a cupcake, cookies or even ice cream. The thoughtful surprise will surely woo them. Add in some fresh flowers as well. Everyone loves a fragrant reminder of love on the most romantic day of the year. She will fall for your gestures over and over when her colleagues swoon over your little surprises!
For later in the evening, plan a happening night at a bar or lounge. Keep it a secret. Tell them to wear the gift you gave them earlier in the morning. Bars and pubs offer some exciting offers on Valentine’s Day for party lovers that you can take advantage of. Make time to browse in advance and book yourself before it’s too late.
Drink your fill and dance your hearts out with your lover in your arms. Let the party animal in you unleash itself. Have fun, sneak in some spontaneous romantic kisses, make the night count. Most of all, keep it all about both of you.
If you are not the party wild kind, then a quiet dinner at a lavish eatery can make a good choice. The Stag Café opposite Amber Fort is a chic place to eat under the starry sky. Take in the view of the brightly lit Amber Fort along with the intoxicating smells of food and cool night breeze.
Eating out may seem like a routine for long dating or married couples. So how do you spice it up? Recreate your first date! Take them to the same place, order the same menu and revisit your memories. Take pictures of the night. Make a deal of recreating your outings every once in a while. A cozy dinner at rooftop of your apartment, or the balcony can be a good option as well. Indulge in conversations.
Talk about the time that has passed and the future that awaits. Couples living apart can make a romantic night out of Valentine’s Day by packing take out dinner and going to some open public space to eat. This is good time to talk about your feelings. Say it out! Tell them how you feel. You’ll surprised how well it turns out without the mandatory lavish hangout at a restaurant or bar. We know right, we are on the same page on this one. Like every other year, this year has to be the same on the relationship status part, but like every other year, this year you don’t have to crib about it or be bored.
Note: We assume all of your friends are committed, just like ours’ and won’t even pick your call. This guide is basically things you can doalone , while the indoor guide is for everyone around the world, outdoor guides sticks to specifically to Jaipur.
Now, we wouldn’t want you to rely completely on going out, because you know at almost every place in and around Jaipur you will find people (especially couples), and we know deep down, we are all introverts (and jealous 🙃). So, we have compiled a list which includes both indoor and outdoor things you can do, this Valentine’s day in Jaipur.
Some things you can do staying in the house or simply anywhere you want:
3 things to binge on Netflix.
1. Wild Wild Country: The documentary is a story revolving around of the most influential people the world has ever had, Osho. The documentary may have not won many awards, but it’s sure to rule your heart for days. There are just 6 episodes which can easily be completed in one go. The show starts slow but as things reveal, well you will have to watch to know.
2. Gerald’s Game: This movie, remains one the best adaptations of Stephen King’sbooks. We are sorry we can’t tell you anything more, we suggest don’t even watch the trailer, just dive into it.
3. Black mirror: Black mirror is an anthology series. Every episode is a feast (not like an actual ‘feast’, but you’ll know 🤐). There are 4 seasons with a total of 19 episodes. Same advice, don’t even think about watching the trailers. As it’s an anthology, you can watch any of the seasons or episodes first, so we leave that up to you. Just remember one thing, each episode is way different from the others, so if an episode disappoints ‘ahem’ you, you don’t need to worry.
Bonus: Black mirror just released a movie called Bandersnatch, it’s different from the episodes and series as a whole, but it’s surely one of a kind experience, it’s a choose your own path movie, and definitely worth watching.
3 places to eat in Jaipur
Now, before we begin, we are not sure if you are comfortable going out and eating alone, for that stance, all these places deliver (swiggy, uber eats, and zomato FTW!) at your home.
1. Meraaki Kitchen: This place literally serves heavenly food (also, beer 😉) and really does happen to be one of our favorite places to eat in Jaipur.
2. Masala Ministry: The is the place you can literally go to, whenever you are craving good food. Masala Ministry is celebrity chef Jiggs Kalra’s restaurant and has just opened a second branch in Jaipur. The restaurant doesn’t serve any form of alcohol, but the taste of food will go you on the 9th cloud.
3. Little Italy: The only authentic Italian place in the entire city, Little Italy must be many of yours’ favorite already. If you haven’t already tried the Alfredo sauce based pizza, we insist you do. The place doesn’t have a match in taste and has a great beer and wine menu to choose from.
3 artists to explore (Caution: Please stop crying, we didn’t mean to hurt you 😰)
Note: We are not including our favorite numbers from them, so you will have to spend the day to find out the best ones.
3 places to have a serene experience in Jaipur
Note: Definitely take your camera along.
1. The mountain behind Samode palace: The place just speaks to your soul, it’s a hard walk of over 800 steep steps and you will probably spend the day climbing it. There is a different kind of serenity at the top of the mountain, especially after you so much trouble getting up there.
2. Dumping yard (Sambhar Lake): The place makes up for an absolute best long drive around Jaipur, there’s also a lovely McDonald’s on Ajmer highway now. You won’t even have the time to think about your Ex or your future. ‘LOL’
3. Chandlai lake: The place makes for an amazing peaceful time if of course, it’s not flooded with couples already. The place is moderately far and doesn’t really have anything special close by, but if you’re lucky and there are no couples around, you can bring home a nice and serene experience.
Remember a month ago we introduced to you a new paradise for party lovers in the city –Club Trove. A place that offers a scintillating upscale nightclub experience to Jaipurites.
And now we are all set for a food and drinks review for you guys. Cause we know when we go out to party or to meet friends or to celebrate the only thing that matters the most is Food and Drinks. Right?
So, here we are!! Jaipur Beat giving the first hand review of trove rooftop café where one can simply indulge into the delights of Sundowners accompanied with scrumptious veg non veg starters whist listening to soothing live music. For those who are into serious clubbing they have a separate Club section where you must try the signature cocktails and veg –non veg finger food.
An exciting, and astonishingly well-designed club, Trove happens to set it just right in terms of space and ambiance. The lights are amazingly placed and it’s one of the first such concept we have seen in Jaipur. We just loved the chandelier made out of the same lights (note: filter applied b&w). The sound system is good with a balanced amount of bass, it’s certainly not ears cracking, and excellently balanced for you to dance the night away.
The ambiance is a bit different from what we are used to, the wooden walls, the asymmetrical wooden edges on the tables, the hanging seats, all add up to a great experience. The café is dimly lit, and you may have to stress your eyes a bit, on the other hand, there were ample heaters to keep you warm in chilly winters. The restaurant is on the ground floor, technically attached to the club, and, there is a beautiful garden attached to it too. The restaurant may end up being blasted by music as the club’s wall were not really ‘sound proof’.
A well-stocked bar is a plus for Trove, with the drinks happens to be served at all three spaces. The mock tails have a nice twist to them, and tastes good, while, it’s the cocktails, that shines brighter. The twist to cocktails makes them exclusive to Trove and they look so so good, all while tasting so amazing. The servers were nice and friendly and sure knew their stuff.
The menu is sure ain’t short on options, which is a mix of Oriental, Asian, East Indian, and what not, it does seem like they tried to row too many boats at once. But they surely managed really well, and of course, didn’t drown. Even the menu is huge, everything we tasted, has that authentic taste while having a different touch, which seemingly, you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
We tried Japaneese noodle salad, Hommos Jaipur way, pattal chaat, Corn water chestnut bag, and the Hommos Jaipur way and in non veg options steamed curry chicken momos was the highlight.
Kebabs & grill
They have some tantalizing options from their Kebabs & grill section- Ultimate Chicken Satay, Kurdish mutton kebab and Charmole sole fish skewer.
Pizza Lovers- Uncle Jack, Pepperonata, smoked chicken and salumi must try. Yes we tried a bite from each one of these.
Though we were almost full but looking at their preparations we don’t want to miss the dinner, which we planned to have at the rooftop café. After a bit of dancing and clubbing we were back for the final course 😀
We have never imagined that we will soon be trying the cuisines from the entire world in our platter but here it was- Indonesian Manchurian curry, Wild mushroom malaka curry, Burmeese Khao suey feats, Andhra bitter melon curry, khatti dal kurkuri bhindi, malai kofta curry.
Hold on this was just vegetarian section!!
In Non- veg- Malaysian mutton curry, Singapore fish curry, tollyygunge egg curry, Awadhi chicken biryani and GT road chicken curry, could easily guess that Chef has actually covered entire Grand Trunk road to discover such amazing cuisines. We’re truly glad!!
Making this very clear to all our fans, no matter how much you have already eaten, you’ve to make some space for the ultimate desserts. Missing those will be counted as a Sin. If not all, you must try Date almond cigar with pan mousse and cannoli baked yogurt.
So, if you actually want to indulge in world class cuisines whilst enjoying world class ambience and experience , think no more and head to Trove café!!
Address- Devraj Niwas, Bani Park, Near Khasa Kothi
