When the Prince of Wales, Albert Edward visited Jaipur back in 1876 it was supposed to act as a Government Building as Madho Singh I had planned. But it had something else in its destiny. Finally after a decade, Albert Hall was built and declared to be used as the State Museum that you see standing tall near Ram Niwas Garden.
– The style that you see and admire every day and night while passing through the beauteous Albert Hall, is Indo- Saracenic form of architecture that has now become a source of reference for varied classical Indian styles of design.
– While you take a look at the corridors of the Museum, you will be surprised to see that they are decorated with murals that portray Chinese, European, Egyptian, Greek and Babylonian civilizations. If you want to get the essence of the rich architectural heritage, this is the place to be at!
– There are not many that knows about this, but Albert Hall Museum in the past year’s Durga Pooja was replicated at Jharpada Pandal in Odisha ! Bewildered to hear this, but it is true.
– One of the greatest authors since time immemorial, Rudyard Kipling after seeing the magnetizing beauty of Albert Hall Museum said, “It is now a rebuke to all other museums in India from Calcutta downwards”.
