Jaipur warming up to usher in Ganesh Chaturthi celebration!

“Deva Shri Ganesha

Deva Shri Ganesha…”

Ganesh Chaturthi 2.jpg

It’s that time of the year again when the world celebrates the birthday of its legendary god by grooving on these beats. There’s fun, madness and passion in this festivity. Jaipur has already begun the celebration of this grand festivity to be held on 2nd September 2019. Its temples have lighted up with colours of joy. ”!

Ganesh Chaturthi2

You can see hundreds of beautiful idols created across the streets of Jaipur (thanks to the efforts of these skilful artists!). Whether it’s JLN Marg or Ajmer Road, Bappa is making appearances everywhere.

Ganesh Chathurthi 1.jpg

And certainly, this celebration is incomplete without the magnificent arrangements at Moti Dungri Ganesh Mandir. For a true Jaipurite no auspicious ceremony, new purchase of a vehicle or the wedding is complete without taking the aashirwaad of Ganesh Ji at Moti Doongri temple.

This is the time when the local talents have got the opportunity to showcase their flair. Every day, graceful kathak dancers also give their performances.

The temple is flooded with devotees who are always donating their love in the form of our cutest deity’s favourite modaks. Not only that, honey and milk are offered in bulk as well. The priests’ plan to present Bappa with half a million ladoos weighing 11, 21 and 51 kgs reveals the spirit of the occasion.

ganesh-modak.jpg

It’s not all, there’s going to be ‘Shringar Mehndi’ event, where the idol will be adorned with henna. Also, as a practice, people will do the same on their hands.

In the end, Jhaankiyan or processions from Moti Dungri will leave for Garh Ganesh.

People from different parts of India come to Jaipur to visit this grand festivity. Fondness and dedication are beyond one’s imagination. The number will be pretty big but ease up, it’s not Kumbh ka Mela 😛

Furthermore, what makes it more interesting is the fact that the decorations have been massive as 141 works of gold have been done. It took 8 months to get the work done. That sounds insane right?! The temple looks like a fantasy land. The brightness of gold makes it highly alluring for eyes.

Every one of us has grown up hearing the stories of the broken tusk and elephant head and adores Bappa for who he is! Indian festivals not only bind families with joy but also usher positivity and peace

The whole team of Jaipur Beat wishes you and your whole family a very happy Ganesh Chaturthi. 🙂

Jaipur ranks 35th -The friendliest cities in the world 2019!

city palace.jpg

The term Friendly is not new to us. We live up to this day and night.  But what a proud moment as Jaipur makes it to the list of ‘50 Friendliest Cities of the World’

Jaipur has been ranked 35th in a list that brought out the 50 friendliest cities in the world. The survey has been conducted with a social audience of 1.5 million people.  The international survey cites that it’s the only Indian city to have made it to the list, with a “young and vibrant population”. It’s also “a student-friendly city” and is “popular on the tourist trail.”It also said that the tourism industry here is strong, with residents making the country proud with their attitude towards visitors.

Well, we know the true meaning of Athithi Devo Bhava.

From how easy the city is to navigate or strangers helping you find your way when that pesky roaming data doesn’t work to making new best friends in a local bar, Jaipur the only city of India made you feel ‘the most welcome’.

A proud Jaipurite 🙂

Things every brother and sister can relate to-Happy Rakshabandhan!

There’s no better bond than of a brother and sister who have grown up together with lots of fights and being each other’s partner in crime. Every year on this auspicious occasion sister ties a sacred thread on their brother’s wrist and he vows to protect her from all adversity.

This festival celebrates the bond of siblings that holds a special place in our heart despite all the fights. But, are we celebrating it the right way or just carrying on the old tradition?

Happy Rakshabandhan

Over the years we have been fighting over the patriarchy and making this world a gender-neutral place, so how can we celebrate this festival that goes against the will of women empowerment. Through this festival, we are setting an example for our children of how women will always need a man’s protection. Raksha Bandhan needs to move on from the old age tradition to a non-patriarchal and gender-neutral way.

Happy Rakshabandhan

This year tie a rakhi on your sister’s wrist and the two of you can take a vow to love each other & have each other’s back and can exchange gifts between the two.

Happy Rakshabandhan

Let’s make this festival a celebration of sibling love!

Amazing Road Trips from Jaipur during Monsoon!

It’s never late to plan an amazing road trip! After all, you have worked for the first 3 days of the week and you got a midweek break on account of Independence day and Rakhshabandhan. Let’s embark on a long drive as there are a lot of places in and around Jaipur that shows how beautiful the surroundings of the city are when it rains.

1.     Bhangarh

Bhangarh

Hiking on a blissful and adventurous break at Bhangarh and discovers the secrets of the Haunted Ruins of Rajasthan along with heritage scenery is not a bad idea.

Bhangarh is situated in Alwar district of Rajasthan and is known to be India’s most haunted place. The remains of Bhangarh Fort are informative enough to take you on a mesmerizing journey, of the reminiscence from the past. It’s just not the place, but the route also gives whimsical experience especially during monsoon. Get down anywhere, take pictures but remember to come back before it gets dark as there is no place to stay there.

2.     Ramgarh

Ramgarh

If you love passing through numerous anicuts, waterfalls and lush green forest patches, filled with an abundance of natural beauty, Ramgarh is the place to go.

If you want to stay, here’s for you a rustic The Gateway Hotel Ramgarh Lodge which was originally the hunting lodge of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Far from the bustle of the city, it is still favoured by tourists those who want to relive the glorious kingly life that once was lived by Maharaja of Jaipur.

3.     Chandlai Lake

chandlai2

When you want to be a part of a picture-perfect scenic view, Chandlai lake is the best spot for you to pose in front of. The unsung beauty is a small lake, 30 km from the city, to experience the most peaceful picnic you need. No wonder you’ll get a bunch of beautiful pictures.

4.     Kukas

JW Marriott

Take a drive on a Delhi National Highway, towards Kukas. Away from the chaos, this place has many luxurious hotels like Fairmont, JW Marriott, Le Meridien, Jaibagh palace and lots more. The crisp enlivening Aravali air envelopes you as soon as you take off in your vehicle on this charming highway covered with verdant greens.

A perfect getaway where you can experience top-notch facilities and fine dining. You can either plan for a lunch with your family or plan a one night stay in any of these places. Sit back, relax, indulge in delicious food.

5.     Bundi

sukh-sagar-copy-Bundi.jpg

Monsoon is the best time to see Bundi in Rajasthan in full glory as it comes alive with lush greenery and waterfalls. The Aravalis are prettier than ever when it rains and the journey becomes super exciting. The quaint little town is  36 km away from Kota is dotted with pretty lakes, waterfalls, nature trails during monsoon. The idyllic landscape will persuade you to stay back for a day or two.

One wouldn’t believe their eyes after witnessing the scenic view that Bundi has despite being part of dry Rajasthan!

6.     Pushkar

Pushkar

Take a six-lane beautiful highway up to Ajmer and continue to Pushkar through the hilly serpentine road. The temple city of Pushkar raises the spirit of all during the monsoon time when its surroundings brims with lively mesosphere. Gorge on the world-famous Maalpuas of Pushkar or just feel the hippie vibes at one of the many cafes in the town.
