A decent set up for bracing the audience for something much bigger coming up.
Captain Marvel fills plenty of story gaps, of which the fans were craving throughout the Marvel movies, the movie sets it up just right as an origin story as well as being a predecessor to the release of one of the most anticipated films in the world. We understand the set and setting of the 90’s era gets exceedingly difficult, especially when the target audience is the millennials, and you need to connect with a feeling of nostalgia. Whenever you are handling something of this stature, things ought to be too much or too less, but Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck sure knows how to make the movie subtle yet intriguing.
Visually, the movie is a complete feast (and we aren’t even talking about Brie Larson 😉). The 3-D was completely worth straining our eyes for, beware as somehow many of the scenes were set up in low light and complete darkness, and quite a few moments were captured in space. The pace of the movie is consistent towards the end, and of course, you need to watch the post-credit scene as it’s a major plot point (and might make you jump) for ‘End Game’. There were less than even a few errors as we have witnessed in most Marvel movies and the movie gets a 100 marks for the character build-up of the most formidable Avenger yet, Captain Marvel.
With equal amounts of Whoa! Whoa! Woah! and an equal amount of Laughs’, Captain Marvel stays true to the signature portraying style of Marvel. The story although spirals backward, we believe there’s going to be a similar resemblance in ‘End Game’ one way or the other. Do make sure to watch the post credit scene, and you can skip the second one, it ain’t that great.
Pretty sure you have heard the phrase “way worse than Wonder Woman” by now, but what most people fail to recognize is that Wonder Woman didn’t have a complete cinematic universe on its shoulders. Take people’s advice with a pinch of salt and go watch the movie, you won’t be disappointed.
Overall Rating: 4/5
End Game’s Anticipation after watching Captain Marvel: 1000000000/5
Remember a month ago we introduced to you a new paradise for party lovers in the city –Club Trove. A place that offers a scintillating upscale nightclub experience to Jaipurites.
And now we are all set for a food and drinks review for you guys. Cause we know when we go out to party or to meet friends or to celebrate the only thing that matters the most is Food and Drinks. Right?
So, here we are!! Jaipur Beat giving the first hand review of trove rooftop café where one can simply indulge into the delights of Sundowners accompanied with scrumptious veg non veg starters whist listening to soothing live music. For those who are into serious clubbing they have a separate Club section where you must try the signature cocktails and veg –non veg finger food.
An exciting, and astonishingly well-designed club, Trove happens to set it just right in terms of space and ambiance. The lights are amazingly placed and it’s one of the first such concept we have seen in Jaipur. We just loved the chandelier made out of the same lights (note: filter applied b&w). The sound system is good with a balanced amount of bass, it’s certainly not ears cracking, and excellently balanced for you to dance the night away.
The ambiance is a bit different from what we are used to, the wooden walls, the asymmetrical wooden edges on the tables, the hanging seats, all add up to a great experience. The café is dimly lit, and you may have to stress your eyes a bit, on the other hand, there were ample heaters to keep you warm in chilly winters. The restaurant is on the ground floor, technically attached to the club, and, there is a beautiful garden attached to it too. The restaurant may end up being blasted by music as the club’s wall were not really ‘sound proof’.
A well-stocked bar is a plus for Trove, with the drinks happens to be served at all three spaces. The mock tails have a nice twist to them, and tastes good, while, it’s the cocktails, that shines brighter. The twist to cocktails makes them exclusive to Trove and they look so so good, all while tasting so amazing. The servers were nice and friendly and sure knew their stuff.
The menu is sure ain’t short on options, which is a mix of Oriental, Asian, East Indian, and what not, it does seem like they tried to row too many boats at once. But they surely managed really well, and of course, didn’t drown. Even the menu is huge, everything we tasted, has that authentic taste while having a different touch, which seemingly, you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
We tried Japaneese noodle salad, Hommos Jaipur way, pattal chaat, Corn water chestnut bag, and the Hommos Jaipur way and in non veg options steamed curry chicken momos was the highlight.
Kebabs & grill
They have some tantalizing options from their Kebabs & grill section- Ultimate Chicken Satay, Kurdish mutton kebab and Charmole sole fish skewer.
Pizza Lovers- Uncle Jack, Pepperonata, smoked chicken and salumi must try. Yes we tried a bite from each one of these.
Though we were almost full but looking at their preparations we don’t want to miss the dinner, which we planned to have at the rooftop café. After a bit of dancing and clubbing we were back for the final course 😀
We have never imagined that we will soon be trying the cuisines from the entire world in our platter but here it was- Indonesian Manchurian curry, Wild mushroom malaka curry, Burmeese Khao suey feats, Andhra bitter melon curry, khatti dal kurkuri bhindi, malai kofta curry.
Hold on this was just vegetarian section!!
In Non- veg- Malaysian mutton curry, Singapore fish curry, tollyygunge egg curry, Awadhi chicken biryani and GT road chicken curry, could easily guess that Chef has actually covered entire Grand Trunk road to discover such amazing cuisines. We’re truly glad!!
Making this very clear to all our fans, no matter how much you have already eaten, you’ve to make some space for the ultimate desserts. Missing those will be counted as a Sin. If not all, you must try Date almond cigar with pan mousse and cannoli baked yogurt.
So, if you actually want to indulge in world class cuisines whilst enjoying world class ambience and experience , think no more and head to Trove café!!
Address- Devraj Niwas, Bani Park, Near Khasa Kothi
Jaipur City may boast of umpteen cafes on different themes but there are just few cafes that have carved out a niche for themselves. Watch Treat Freak a.k.a. WTF sports café is one amongst all such cafes. That’s why, when Jaipur Beat got an invitation to come and experience this Sports Bar, we couldn’t resist and agreed. 🙂 After spending a really good time at the café and getting flabbergasted with every element of it we couldn’t resist to share the experience with our fans. WTF sets the stage for an entirely new way to watch and admire sports in a social environment.
People looking for a sports bar experience and even those looking for a restaurant that has sports viewing can find this place exciting one. The ambiance of the cafe is wrapped in the color of sports. . Whether it is the sport shoes hanging from the ceiling or the flag of different sporting nations, wherever your eyes wander, you can easily catch some or the other element of sport and yes you just can’t miss that poster of the cricket sports star M.S Dhoni 🙂Moving ahead from the sporty ambiance there are many sports that you can play as well at the café, which include but are not limited to Billiards, Pool and Air hockey.
We can’t miss the food part 🙂 Of course the focus is also on delivering good food in a fun, sports-oriented atmosphere. We were served some mouth watering delicacies and before we talk about them we warn you that if you are on a diet then please do not read anymore. Barbeque Paneer Panini, with fresh pieces of paneer coated in spicy fillings and covered with two layers of bread, WTF house of nachos, which is probably the best Nachos dish served in Jaipur city, Cigar Rolls, which had some amazing filling wrapped in a corn flour coating and Dahi Kebabs were somedishes that actually tasted well. We also tried Peshawari Aloo, Crispy Paneer, Kadak seekh Kebab, and the preparations were all upto the mark. Apart from the delectable food, sporty vibe and fun games that you get to play at WTF, there is another thing that will tempt you to visit this café as soon as possible. That is the introduction of live screening of the IPL tournament. Now that’s the way you would want to roll this IPL season with amazing drinks, great food, a sporty vibe everywhere and with people who consider IPL a religion as much as you do.We suggest that you should pay a visit to WTF soon and share your experience with us. 🙂
Location- 3rd Floor, Man Upasana Plaza, C-44, Sardar Patel Rd, C Scheme, Ashok Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302001
One thing is sure that Jaipur no longer gives you monotonous fine dining set ups. With the mushroom growth of cafes in town, mark it with any new café you will get ample choice to experiment with food and ambience both. And, we at Jaipur Beat can never miss to introduce any such interesting place coming up in town. Here’s bringing to you our first hand experience of one such amazing place- ‘Jaipur adda’.
Have you ever wondered what Jaipur looked like from the terrace of a building at night? Where you could actually experience a little wind in your hair while oodles of mouth-watering food being served on your plate? Where you can actually have Khana Pina over some Gup Shup with friends?
The answer to all these questions lies in ‘Jaipur Adda’ that is perched on the top of the Nirvana Hometel Hotel at a busy juncture of Khasa Kothi Circle. The place is arranged over two floors (upper and lower deck) offering a spectacular terrace seating overlooking Country Inn Hotel and Suites and the Jaipur metro track.
Nicely dated décor with cheery setting of the fine wood furnishings and the amazing wall art give the space a quirky feel, hence set this place apart from the usual cafés.
About Ambience-Indoor and Outdoor
The café promises a fabulous experience and the overall calm ambiance radiates positive vibes where you can simply get your drink and watch the sun going down the skyline and the sunrays actually peeping through the bamboo chick curtains.
Not just that, one can even take a roller coaster ride on time machine from Jaipur Adda, as your senses are soaked on one side experiencing the ecstasy of the moving metro and the busy roads of today’s modern Jaipur while on the contrary witness the magnificent Nahargarh Fort which is the reminiscence of the Jaipur’s royal times.
Not just its romantic ambience, the food here is equally good in quality and price both.
About Food-Serves both veg and non veg!
If you are going with friends we suggest you to go for Beer Bucket. A big wooden barrel filled with plenty of ice is placed right next to you and delectable Jar potatoes (roasted baby potatoes tossed in harissa saucewhich is a spicy paste made out of hot chilli peppers and other spices) was just perfect to go with the spicy conversation among friends.
Out of the elaborate menu of Food and Drinks, we tried Tub of shots– some times be crazy and it’s real good fun to say cheers with shots of colors and sparkling lights.
We were keen on experimenting with something innovative. So we tried –Smacked cucumber, Sichuan peppercorn, garlic salad. A crispy snack is always welcome, on Chef’s recommendation we had ‘Karari Roti’- crispy large kadahi shaped roti sprinkled with olive oil and topped with chopped tomato onion. Other delights were the Bombay toast, Fried egg parsi influenced and also Zucchini, pineapple, carrot, raddish slaw red honey mustard, no doubt all the preparations surprised us.
We know it was too much 🙂 The portion was good enough for 2 persons.
No matter on which table you choose every table has these jars adorned with witty food quotes that will surely catch your attention.
With its interesting location and delicious food, Jaipur adda is one of the
best options to plan a get together with family & friends.
Not to miss, it has valet parking so you are saved from the parking woos, Live Screen and a separate full bar is a feather in the cap.
We think your weekend plan is sorted now. What say?
So guys go and mark our words- this will be your Friends Adda very soon 🙂

Last fortnight was indeed the tough one with lots of uncertainty around and that calls to love our Zindagi much more! Jaipur Beatthought to make our Sunday the Happy One 🙂 and we head for the movie on a Sunday evening at INOX Pink Square.
Actors: Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar, Angad Bedi, Ira Dubey
With a team of Gauri Shinde, Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, Dear Zindagi has every thing going for it even before the titles start to appear. Kaira uff Koko (Alia) is a cinematographer who is supposed to be great in her job. Her producer Raghu (Kunal Kapoor) has hots for her although she is dating Sid (Angad Bedi). She breaks from Sid by disclosing that she slept with her producer. Now Raghu offers her great job for a film to be shot in New York and also proposes her which she some how ignores.
The first one-hour of the movie moves real fast and rapidly. You like the pace as too much is happening too soon. It’s after that, that the movie begins to slip a bit. So Kaira is forced to leave Mumbai and come to Goa to stay with her parents. And like all the parents, her parents start to preach her about life and marriage. Kaira realises that she is losing her mental peace and is unable to sleep. Enters Jehangir Khan (SRK), her therapist. Dr Khan has a perfect bungalow in Goa with old age charm; he is witty and wears different shades of linen shirts.
Their sessions start inside the four wall and slowly the rules are broken and the outdoor sessions at beach, while cycling etc also takes place. Kaira opens up with Dr Khan, she starts to trust him and she feels good just to be with him. She shares her secrets and fears with him. Over here we come to know about her traumatic childhood, reasons for her stressful relationships with parents and failed romantic relationships. Dr Khan teaches Kaira to live for today “Don’t let the past blackmail your present”. He develops her self-confidence, asks her to forget her past and also let her cry. “Agar tum khul ke roegi nahin to hasogi kaise ?“
This part of the movie is very slow, full of gyaan, drags and misses the point. This is where Gauri Shinde does injustice to the script and lead characters. The foundation of Dr Khan and Kaira’s relationship is not very convincing and it rather looked fake. And while this relationship was developing in comes Rumi (Ali Zafar) whose contribution to the script is singing few songs.
A take on today’s generations multiple relationships was put up very aptly in the movie with a very fine example of comparing it to choosing a chair. You try multiple chairs but buy just one and the same goes with choosing a partner so there is nothing wrong if you get in and out multiple times to find that perfect partner.
The movie carries a message, which is so relevant in today’s world. What memories from the past we should carry with what and us we leave is a very important decision and hence one must not carry excess baggage in their life. The entire movie rests on Alia’s tiny shoulders and it’s delight to see King Khan agreeing to play second fiddle to her. Alia is terrific and simply excels in emotional scenes. Shahrukh Khan’s is an extension to the role in Chak De. But the sad part is that out of all the three Khans (Aamir, Salman and him) he is now the oldest looking Khan for sure. Probably those packets of cigarettes are beginning to play a role now. The balance and control shown in the relationship between Dr Khan and Kaira is surely the best part of the movie. No over the top emotions yet subtle and strong bond. Like in English Vinglish, the music is very good. Would suggest one time watch as it is a very brave movie in lot of respects.
