5 Reasons to own an Outstanding Umbrella

Umbrella Jaipur Beat Rains

Give me some sunshine, give me some rain, I’ll make the best of the weather, and you’ll fall in love with me all over again!

– Umbrella

Jaipur Beat Umbrella Monsoon

If there’s one piece of advice we can give you this monsoon, it’s to go ahead and buy yourself an umbrella! We’ll give you 5 reasons for this:

1. It’s a style statement. You can’t carry an umbrella that you have thoughtfully purchased, and be lost in the crowd! These half-spherical things will always make a perfect accessory.

2. It’s a peek into your personality. Red or yellow, polka-dotted or monochrome striped, the subtly stylish or unblinkingly funky, whatever umbrella you pick, it speaks volumes about the person in you.

3. It’ll be a part of some of your most special moments. That moment when you feel like the classic Raj Kapoor or Nargis, or when you feel all Zoobi-Doobi musical like Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, it’s the umbrella effect that makes you all Bollywood-like romantic.

4. Protects you from the sun-shine and the rain alike. It lets you unleash your free-bird spirit, as it becomes your companion through a 40 degrees outside sunny weather, or a raining cats and dogs day.

5. Most of all, it’s the affordable and one of the unique ways to add colours and joy to your rushing daily life 🙂

Lehariya: Fashion’s Monsoon affair

One of the many tie and dye patterns, the technique of Lehariya needs no introduction. Symbolizing water waves, lehariya comes from the word leher, which stands for a wave in English. Hence, its special place for monsoons!

Chiefly a Rajasthani dress design pattern, the beautiful stripes of different colours that form lehariya are a treat for the eyes in this weather. Did you know that auspicious colours of yellow and red, alternated in waves, is one of the original designs of lehariya?

Coming to the monsoon of 2014, when Alia Bhatt runs around effervescently in lehariya dupattas and kurtis in Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya, and even the lady of the royal house of Jaipur, Princess Diya Kumari is spotted most in her couture of lehariya saris, the pattern has become an aesthetic trend.

The best part about lehariya is that it isn’t biased towards women. It looks as tasteful on the turbans, kurtas and the cravat! Here are some quick fashion tips on how to wear your lehariya in the monsoon of 2014:

  • A lehariya kurti with a plain skirt, or the alternate, a plain shirt with a long flowing lehariya skirt.

  • A cotton or silk turban of lehariya over any formal suit or bandhgala is a norm of the Indian weddings

Lehariya Turban

  • Kurta pyjama, with classically dyed lehariya kurta
  • Saris, suits and scarves reflect the beautiful of this weatherIMG_8297

  • Mixing traditions and blending boundaries, the Afghani Kaftan with lehariya dyed over it is going to be quiet a head-turner

The list goes on, and we’re so proud that this season’s most-adored style is a gift of Rajasthan to the fashionable men and ladies of the country!

Launch of Bulgari’s Indian Garnet at Hotel Rambagh Palace in Jaipur

The historic hotel and the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur played host to an event organised by the Italian luxury brand Bulgari. The occasion was the launch of Bulgari’s latest Omnia range of fragrances, aptly named Indian Garnet.

Bulgari Omnia Indian Garnet Jaipur Beat

Media members from all over the world were flown to Jaipur and the fragrance introduction was held on the sprawling garden grounds of the Rambagh Palace. As the morning sun was out in full force, guests were sheltered by colourful umbrellas in varied shapes and hues.

Rambagh Launch Indian Garnet Bulgari

It took the Spanish master perfumer Alberto Morillas one and a half years to create this fragrance! To create an instant evocation of the Indian sub-continent, India, for its distinct orange shades of sunsets and other panorama, had to be Bulgari’s launch place, but Jaipur as the destination city was chosen because Pink City is the place where Bulgari sources for the gems used in its jewellery.

Morillas was inspired by strong elements such as tuberose and saffron, both emblematic of India. Each of the accord reminded him of the colour of a sari. He said, ‘The Omnia Indian Garnet woman resembles a queen. She embodies a form of femininity, serenity, nobility and elegance which one encounters everywhere in India, from the most humble woman to the Maharani’.

Glamour Grab: Jaipur Beat bringing the live beats of IIJW-2013

It’s high time, when world should start considering Jaipur as pioneer in field of Social Media Marketing.

A known name in jewelry “Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers”  is all set to grab your attention with its new elegant and exquisite collection: Amér – the jewelry collection that takes you to the victorious land of Royal Rajasthan, at IIJW Delhi-2013.

Jaipur Beat is all set to cover the event digitally and socially for the ace jewelry house of Jaipur –“Birdichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers”. The event has commenced with full glamour and glitz at “Pragati Maidan”, Delhi, and we are going to keep you updated with live coverage of the event.

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers have emerged as one of the pioneering luxury jewellery brands in India. At this jewellery house, each exquisite piece is embellished with a range of colored gemstones in dreamy hues, highly polished diamonds with fancy colors, shapes and cuts, all set in gold with astounding quality.

This time the new jewellery range unwinds and takes you away to an era where the royals of Rajasthan resided. The fort of Amer in Jaipur which is the main inspiration for this collection speaks of the lifestyle and opulence witnessed and lived by the royal folks of those times. The mighty pillars, the skilful paintings, the beautiful arches have all been admired by the designers and the dream of replicating them has been carved into the intricate motifs of Amér.

The fort of Amer is indeed one of the most marvelous paradigms which demonstrate the beauty and symphony of Hindu, Mughal and colonial architecture, and this splendor has been wonderfully captured in the jewels of Amér. The new range of Amér weaves in a saga of historical romance and passion through its astounding jewellery embedded with canary yellow diamonds. Where a pair of dazzling earrings takes the shape of the gorgeous pillars of the fort, a royal necklace is embellished with the motif of Lord Ganesha inspired by the Ganesh pole gate. Besides these, an array of bracelets, earrings, necklaces gives an insight into the rich legacy of Rajasthan which might be unspoken of but can be felt and seen in the aura of Amér.

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers are all set to launch their new collection Amér at IIJW Delhi on 12th April at 7.00 PM, Hall no. 18, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Android Tablet Review : Qube Pro

Qube Pro : A Pro in making

Although there are various sizes of tablets available in the market, the closest a Tablet to match a Laptop is 9” or above. 9” tablet due to its size and convenience, give user a choice of skipping the usage of Laptop. Qube Pro, fits the bill of an occasional as well as a serious Tablet with its 9.7” screen. One looks at Qube Pro and realizes it’s a serious machine we are referring to.

Design and Build

Qube Pro is a solid looking Tablet with black front and grey rear. All the buttons including the power button are available on the sides of the tablet whereas the speakers and rear camera is at the back.

The design of Qube Pro is user friendly and convenient to use in either landscape or portrait mode.  The rear touches directly to the surface and hence we suggest using the tablet always with a cover.

Feature and Performance

Once you power on Qube Pro you are welcomed with a bright green logo of Qube followed by Android’s logo. The Pro comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream sandwich preloaded. The OS is optimized for Tablet and comes with all the goodies required for a routine user. The tablet comes with two speakers that are quite decent. However, watching a movie based on those would not be advised. The Pro comes with following ports on the left panel: headphone, USB,  Mini SD card slot, HDMI and DC input 5V-2A. The top left comes with home and back button that is also possible through the Android touch screen based commands.

pro4-800x500The booting process is very fast. The apps loading are also quick however it tends to get a bit slow when lots of app are open in the RAM. The Boxchip A10 @ 1.5 Ghz is quite handful for the apps and OS. The Qube Pro comes with 8000MAH/3.7V battery. The life of the battery depends on the application usage however it leaves much to be desired when it come to multimedia and high end graphic usage. That is largely due to the fact that screen size takes a lot out of the battery.

The Tablet comes with external 3G USB dongle support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for communication and Internet connectivity.

Display and Screen

I am using an Apple iPad for my personal use. I have also used Samsung Tab for some time. Must say that Qube Pro comes with one of the best Capacitive Multi-touch screen with precise and quick response.  The resolution is 1366 * 768 with 16: 9 aspect ratios. The quality of graphics is quite acceptable looking at the price point this is sold at. The limitations are there when we are playing high graphic intensive games. There you crave for more.

Apps and Camera

The good thing about Qube Pro is that it comes with essential apps preloaded for Indian users. Some of them are TOI for news, Just Dial for local search based on GPS, ESPN cricinfo for cricket news and updates etc. The Tablet is ready to use once you take it out of the box. Social Media tools such as Google + and Facebook are also preloaded.

The Tablet comes with dual camera that serves the purpose of Chat, Skype etc.

Having used numerous Tablets both at high end and low end, I must say that Qube Pro surprised me with its performance and value for money feature. The Tablet just delivers what we expect from it. The price point is so aggressive that you end up buying a bigger Tablet, which eventually helps when the usage increases. Except for not so good battery performance, Qube Pro delivers more than you expect it to.

Points: 4.5/5
