The City Of Magic And Magnificence- Jaipur

From the highest point of Nahargarh fort to the deepest point of Man Sagar Lake, the aura of pink running through the veins of Jaipur makes it one of the most amazing cities to not just explore, but also to live in.

nahargarh-fort.jpg

Built as beautiful walled city years and years ago by the royal Rajput rulers, Jaipur has always been the hub of heritage and culture. To add a beautiful edge to it, the walled city has caught a high pace on development and growth along with conserving the original essence of it.

From the mesmerizing spots at the ancient Amer, Nahargarh and Jaigarh Forts to the newest Experience Centre and Dravyavati River Project, the city is almost a perfect metaphor for Magic Realism. Truly traditional to the core till date, the city area still remains painted in the colour that names it the Pink City. On the other hand, the city is all set to set up sky high standards with being a metro city as well as a smart city.

So if you ever visit Jaipur, don’t leave before you-

Techno Fans Popping Up In Jaipur !

“I don’t like music”- said no one ever.

With all the genres of music taking hold in our city with celebrity concerts and band performances every now and then, the newest one popping up is the ‘Techno Music.’ And now, we have an exclusive techno fest for the same!

locals district_7.jpg

Earlier this year a techno fest called “Locals DISTRICT” celebrated its first edition of techno madness at Castle Kalwar with all kinds of laser and light show, 72 hours non-stop dancing to the techno rhythms, camping and what not!

locals district_9.jpg

We Jaipurites are welcoming new cultures, all kinds of traditions and choices in music and dance forms with open arms; from classical music to Electronic Dance Music, Psychedelic to Punk and romantic to metal music. One such unique genre is Techno music which is being welcomed by Jaipurites with all the love and excitement.

With an increasing craze for the frenzy all around, Techno music finds its own set of audience that loses itself to the feel and fun of this form of technological spirituality.

Wake up! It’s Gym’o clock

It’s because of the health conscious Jaipurites, the fitness culture has popped up in our city. If you are a regular gym person, you must be finding it a fun and exciting place to stay fit and then you already know the unsaid rules or say Gym Etiquettes. But for all those who are new to the gym, it’s better to know the basic do’s and don’ts. There are many important things including clothing, body odour, cell phones, space or equipment sharing and moreover the basic hygiene that one should be careful about.

DSC_0011.JPG

Do’s at the gym

  1. Do ask your trainer before you start

Before taking the first step on the machine, ask your trainer what is best suited for you according to your health. Don’t just go with the flow and end up injuring yourself.

  1. Warm up

Warming up before starting your workout is a MUST ! Cold muscles aren’t that flexible so opt for gentle movements like walking or stretching that will help your muscle relax before going out on a meticulous workout.

  1. Keep your water bottle with you

Carry a water bottle with you ALWAYS! Drink plenty amount of water even before you get thirsty in between your workout because getting thirsty is believed to be a sign of dehydration.

  1. Do wear deodorant

After you are finished with your exhaustive routine at the gym, you may not realize but the odour of your body can prove to be a problem for others working out near you.

  1. Do wipe your machines before you start working out

You know it and there is no shying away from the fact that we tend to sweat during our gym activity. So why not carry a napkin and wipe off the machines/ equipment before using them? This way our hygiene will be safe in our hands.

DSC_0017.JPG

  1. Do keep the weights at their proper place

Once you are done using the weights, don’t just leave them where you finished exercising. Keep them at their proper place otherwise, someone can end up getting injured. The gym trainers and owners are going to thank you later.

DSC_0002.JPG

Don’ts at the gym

  1. Don’t focus on everyone’s workout

A basic rule to follow at the gym; focus on your workout instead of what others are doing. If you are really keen to learn what the other person is doing, then either ask him/her once he/she is finished his/her exercise or ask your trainer.

  1. Don’t use your phone at all

Talking while working out, especially when on a treadmill is not a really good idea. This disturbs your concentration to use the equipment and you can end up injuring yourself. Moreover, it disturbs others a lot.

  1. Don’t restrict yourself to training

Achieving your goals in the gym is a good deal, but don’t limit yourself to specific machines and equipment. The more you keep your mind open about your routine, the better you realize what you’re good at 😉

DSC_0049.JPG

  1. Don’t use gym equipment without proper guidance

First day at the gym and can’t figure out which equipment is suited for you? Don’t worry, take the help of your instructor because a proper guidance on what and how of that equipment is a MUST!

  1. Don’t dominate all the machines at once

Shifting from one machine to another in a short span of time to break the monotony can be unethical because you’re not the only one at the gym. Other people are waiting for their turn, so be mindful and give each routine the time it deserves at one stretch.

Follow these simple rules at the gym and make your way to the fitter YOU !

If you’re thinking to join gym pretty soon remember to choose one which is best for you. The best infrastructure, experienced trainers, central location and for the ladies if you get pick up drop service go for that.

Do check out Good To Great Sports Academy that focuses on taking the fitness routine and lifestyle of Jaipur’s people to next level. It lives up to high expectations and has everything required in order to be fit.

Engulf In The Five F’s Of Navratri

Navratri Sthapna marks the beginning of the festive season and for the next month or so, it is all about food, festivity, faith, fasting and a lot of fun! Navratri brings a new zeal with itself and there is a wave of new beginnings all around.

Jaipur Beat brings you the five F’s of this beautiful season of love, happiness, colours and light.

  1. Faith– The first and foremost thing that Navratri is about- Maa Durga’s love and blessings. The elaborate ‘puja’ and ‘havan’ during the Navratras cannot be forgotten. Moreover, it’s that time of the year when we finally start visiting the temples quite often due to Navratri. Visiting Amer’s Shila Mata temple is the most important #ThingsToDO which every Jaipurite tries to achieve ditching the tight schedule.

navratri-5

  1. Fasting- It’s the first question we ask – Are you on fast? That’s the most important part of Navratri. Some do it for faith, some to meet out their weight loss goals, and some do it for de-toxication but some like us are always after the best Falahaari delights. No matter the reason, we all believe in fasting and choose to instil some healthy eating habits during these nine days of Navratri.

 falahaar.jpg

Pic courtesy: Falahaar

  1. Food– Even though Navratri is about fasting, yet food is the constant love. We always find substitutes for what we cannot eat during Navratras. From fruit- chaat to Saabudana Khichdi and Kuttu Ki Puri we keep all the sweet to salty options at hand. And for those who are not fasting, festive season brings a new enthusiasm for the same old spicy food.

navratri thali

  1. Festivity- There is an air of festive mood in the weather with all the festive discounts, shopping spree, family functions and wedding functions lining up. You can see light and decorations wherever you turn your head.

 IMG_9658

  1. Fashion- Last but not least, fashion always makes the place for itself when it comes to the festivity. We have all tip-topped ourselves with glittery Gujarati or Rajasthani lehengas and Angrakhas some time or the other for the epic Garba and Dandiya night or even taking out our traditional Indian outfits.

The best time of the year is right here. Let’s enjoy it to the most!

Wishing you all a very Happy Navratri ! 🙂

Jaipur Mountaineers Make It To The Far North!

When passion becomes purpose, miracles happen. This has been proved by three young mountaineers from Pink City who followed their passion and made it truly evident that there is no peak of the world higher than willpower.

Having started their journey of bravery from Tongul village at Kargil on August 27, Rahul Bairwa, Sandeep Saini and Nipun Shashtri climbed for 24 days and achieved the rare feat of scaling 7135 meters of Mount Nun, the highest peak of Himalayan Range lying on the Indian side of LoC.

Having survived the extreme climatic conditions, heavy snowfall for more than 72 hours, lack of oxygen due to the altitude and having lost a friend to hypothermia on the way, did not let their will to conquer the mountain die and they started to climb again on 19th September after having been stranded for almost 9 days due to thunderstorm and snow.

Although most of their team members had climbed down due to extremely bad weather, this trio did not back down and made way for success through their constant struggle and undying motivation.
