Talk Journalism

Talk Journalism has seen a successful run of five editions and now it is coming up with its sixth edition which is scheduled on 20th-22nd September 2019. The festival has been mainly designed to benefit all the professionals, students and enthusiasts of journalism.

Talk Journalism is an initiative of The Vox Foundation which aims at bridging this gap and takes a step towards initiating the media dialogue. The only dedicated festival that celebrates Media and Journalism and gives a platform to the aspiring media professionals to discuss and debate about related issues. The festival attracts the pioneers in media and lets them share their experiences about the industry with the audience. It is the most enriching experience in a journey of being a journalist.

For the students of Mass Communication and Journalism, this is a great platform where the students can meet these speakers and hear the words of wisdom from them. Aspiring media professionals can meet experts and can attend workshops by Google, Twitter, Facebook. Be a part of the Photography Competition and Quizzes. And the most important thing #TJ19 will be having HR Representatives of leading Media Houses and they will be on the lookout for interns at the event.

A haven for the book worms of the city – Jaipur Book Lovers.

Someone once correctly said, “Books are man’s best friends.” Books have so much to give and never ask for anything in return from us. They are the powerhouse of knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, a person who loves reading books can never feel lonely or bored, because they have found peace in solitude from reading books. A good book can lift up our mood instantly while also leaving a deep impact on us. Jaipur has produced many good writers and also hosts various literature events round the year; which are widely attended by enthusiastic readers of Pink City. Nowadays, the book club culture is gaining popularity, and there is one such exemplary club which has been providing a manifesto to the Pink City’s bibliophiles. Jaipur Book Lovers is a free membership club of Jaipur-based book lovers which seeks to act as a platform for all book lovers and provide them a platform for discussions on books/author-related themes. The start of Jaipur Book Lovers dates back to September 2014, as a MeetUp group. The first meeting for JBL was held among four members at Chaisa Tea Café, and that was the start of an odyssey, from where the club has greatly evolved.

Jaipur Book Lovers is now a club with 1,911 active members on its MeetUp page. JBL also has a vibrant community on Facebook as well as a lively social media presence. Twice every month, JBL organizes a MeetUp in a preferred café of the readers. JBL has also hosted author interactions at the prestigious Jaipur Literature Forum in Diggi Palace. JBL has also participated and hosted interactions during Jaipur Sufi Festival.

The admirable factor about Jaipur Book Lovers is that folks of all age-groups are embraced, the youngest member is a 9 year old while the oldest is a 76 year old. For them, age is just a number. What unites all the members together is the fondness of reading books and their fervent desire to share this passion. The profile of JBL members is quite diverse from university professors to retired IAS officers as well as people serving as administrative officers to young students. Jaipur Book Lovers is a forum for all book readers and promotes long-term reading. Members of the club come regularly to the MeetUps, because these get-togethers give quality reading recommendations to help rekindle the members’ romance of reading or simply to be amongst a group of kindred spirits.

Jaipur Book Lovers has organized various MeetUps on various topics from talking about books that have been converted to movies or books written on sports as well as books that are based on human psychology. JBL has also organized the interaction on many authors such as Ayn Rand. At Jawahar Kala Kendra, JBL hosted their 50th celebratory MeetUp which consisted of many book-related games and activities. Overall, JBL has organized 99 MeetUps and is now looking forward to organizing their 100thMeetUp, which is ready to roll on June 2nd at 05:00 P.M. in the Jawahar Kala Kendra.

Talk Journalism- A Media Fest to Uncover Trends & Tools of Press in Jaipur!

Media has always played a huge role in the development of any country. It is high time that media gets constructive about creating value for itself and its counterparts. Keeping the same in mind an initiative has been taken in the form of, Talk Journalism, which is now coming up with its fourth edition in Pink City after a successful run of three editions (2012, 2015, and 2016)  you can listen to some of the finest voices in Indian journalism and also meet them socially.

About Talk Journalism – A not-for-profit initiative, which is based on the idea to discuss about the present day journalism, a profession that brings forth and discusses upon every important aspect of the society but hardly ever gets to debate about itself.

The students of journalism will get a chance to meet the veteran investigative journalist; Nick Davies, who will hold a workshop for the students of journalism.
