‘Rajasthan Heritage Week’, is a unique initiative created to celebrate the traditional artisans and to revive the art of handloom and traditional weaves. The second day of the five day event saw the initiation of Rajasthan Fashion Week. This fashion week unlike others was done with a twist and the pink City would never have had it any other way.
The designers who showcased their collection used fabrics made by handloom, khadi and other weaves famous in Rajasthan. The famous textiles of Rajasthan like tie &Dye, Shibori and block printing were also clearly visible in the designs.
On the first day of the fashion week 12 national and international designers showcased their designs amidst amazing folk performances like Ghoomar, Kaalbeliya and live folk music.
The fashion show opened with none other than city’s very own designer Swati Ubroi presenting her amazing gotta patti work to the viewers. The show saw many amazing designs by the celebrated designer Rohit Bal, Menswear by Ajay Kumar, Vidhi Singhania’s traditional zari gotta designs and the show ended on the high note with Raghvendra Rathore’s collection for men and women.
Rajasthan Heritage Week is also promoting local artisans through ‘Handmade in Rajasthan’ exhibition which is going on at Diggi Palace and will last till 4th December’16. The Rajasthan Fashion Week has more to come with the upcoming two days of Fashion week which will see designers like Rohit Kamra, Bibi Russell, Paridhi Jaipuriya, Ayush Kasliwal, Wendell Rodricks and many more showcasing their designs on traditional weaves of Rajasthan.

Creating a chic arena for buyers, editors and trendsetter’s, top fashion designers of the country will present their Fashion collection for 2013 with the magnificent backdrops of Fairmont, Jaipur.
The programs include a culture & style welcome party, offsite show, a grand opening show, after show parties and grand finale party at exquisite venues .The event will be an extravaganza as 26 designers will showcase their collection, including the top designers such as Ritu Kumar, Kavita Bhartia, Vikram Phadnis, Mandira Wirk, Neeta Lulla, Payal Jain, Krishna Dembla, Charu Parashar; to name a few . The offsite show on May 9-12 is going to be held at the poolside of Fairmont which will showcase the collection by designer Rohit and Abhishek from Jaipur.
While Jaipur’s reputation as a luxury vacation destination is by now well-established, its emergence as a center of fashion is underway.
On its second edition, Rajasthan Fashion Week is bringing burgeoning fashion scene to the city from 9th – 12th May 2013. The fashion frenzy shall witness a differential scale of creative canvas, fabricating Jaipur as a new dimension to the business of fashion in India and thereby, reckoning Rajasthan Fashion Week as a distinctive brand, globally!

Fashion industry is turning out once again to roll out red carpet for the first edition of Rajasthan Fashion Week (RFW 2012).
The three-day fashion extravaganza will start in Jaipur on May 24 till May26, 2012 at the prestigious Marriott, Jaipur, where as many as 30 national and international designers along with 40 top and super models will participate, designers like Shaahid Amir, Rohit Verma, Lina Tipnis, Poonam Patel, Shilpa Marigold, will showcase their collections. India’s top listed Choreographer Achla Sachdev is taking the lead to provide phenomenal Extravaganza on the Ramp of RFW 2012.
Jaipur being one of the favorite hubs for textile and craft serves the Indian as well as International fashion fraternity with a world class platform to interact with each other.
