Indian Political League V/s Indian Premier League : The 15 similarities between them.

The days of the IPL are on! By IPL, we at Jaipur Beat not only mean the Indian Premier League that’s one of the most sought after cricket event every year, but also, the Indian Political League. The Lok Sabha elections take place every 5 years and serves the same purpose that of a league as a lot of parties participate and face-off each other. Eventually, there’s only 1 party that emerges as the winner, the same happens in a league.

Both these events have some similarities and we’re sure you can’t but agree with all of these 😉

1. They last for almost 2 months.

2. Spread throughout the country in different states

3. Local teams (parties) are represented by local talents (leaders)

4. Both provide some serious non-stop entertainment

5. Enraged discussions take place Face to face or on Whatsapp.

6. Teams (parties) buy players from other teams in cash, if needed.

7. Speculation of being fixed is always there with them.

8. Bollywood plays a major and integral part in both

9. People look forward to the final result

10. Social and Electronic media plays major role in both

11. Alcohol brands make merry in both

12. Corporates have a serious role to play in terms in finances

13. One would get routinely notified about them, whether voluntarily or involuntarily!

14. Both take over the newspapers, one takes the first half and the other, the latter half.

15. If you’re a person living in the country and don’t follow either of the two, there’s a great chance of you being called an anti-nationalist.

  1. Swim your worries away

Wake up! It’s Gym’o clock

It’s because of the health conscious Jaipurites, the fitness culture has popped up in our city. If you are a regular gym person, you must be finding it a fun and exciting place to stay fit and then you already know the unsaid rules or say Gym Etiquettes. But for all those who are new to the gym, it’s better to know the basic do’s and don’ts. There are many important things including clothing, body odour, cell phones, space or equipment sharing and moreover the basic hygiene that one should be careful about.

DSC_0011.JPG

Do’s at the gym

  1. Do ask your trainer before you start

Before taking the first step on the machine, ask your trainer what is best suited for you according to your health. Don’t just go with the flow and end up injuring yourself.

  1. Warm up

Warming up before starting your workout is a MUST ! Cold muscles aren’t that flexible so opt for gentle movements like walking or stretching that will help your muscle relax before going out on a meticulous workout.

  1. Keep your water bottle with you

Carry a water bottle with you ALWAYS! Drink plenty amount of water even before you get thirsty in between your workout because getting thirsty is believed to be a sign of dehydration.

  1. Do wear deodorant

After you are finished with your exhaustive routine at the gym, you may not realize but the odour of your body can prove to be a problem for others working out near you.

  1. Do wipe your machines before you start working out

You know it and there is no shying away from the fact that we tend to sweat during our gym activity. So why not carry a napkin and wipe off the machines/ equipment before using them? This way our hygiene will be safe in our hands.

DSC_0017.JPG

  1. Do keep the weights at their proper place

Once you are done using the weights, don’t just leave them where you finished exercising. Keep them at their proper place otherwise, someone can end up getting injured. The gym trainers and owners are going to thank you later.

DSC_0002.JPG

Don’ts at the gym

  1. Don’t focus on everyone’s workout

A basic rule to follow at the gym; focus on your workout instead of what others are doing. If you are really keen to learn what the other person is doing, then either ask him/her once he/she is finished his/her exercise or ask your trainer.

  1. Don’t use your phone at all

Talking while working out, especially when on a treadmill is not a really good idea. This disturbs your concentration to use the equipment and you can end up injuring yourself. Moreover, it disturbs others a lot.

  1. Don’t restrict yourself to training

Achieving your goals in the gym is a good deal, but don’t limit yourself to specific machines and equipment. The more you keep your mind open about your routine, the better you realize what you’re good at 😉

DSC_0049.JPG

  1. Don’t use gym equipment without proper guidance

First day at the gym and can’t figure out which equipment is suited for you? Don’t worry, take the help of your instructor because a proper guidance on what and how of that equipment is a MUST!

  1. Don’t dominate all the machines at once

Shifting from one machine to another in a short span of time to break the monotony can be unethical because you’re not the only one at the gym. Other people are waiting for their turn, so be mindful and give each routine the time it deserves at one stretch.

Follow these simple rules at the gym and make your way to the fitter YOU !

If you’re thinking to join gym pretty soon remember to choose one which is best for you. The best infrastructure, experienced trainers, central location and for the ladies if you get pick up drop service go for that.

Do check out Good To Great Sports Academy that focuses on taking the fitness routine and lifestyle of Jaipur’s people to next level. It lives up to high expectations and has everything required in order to be fit.

Jaipur Mountaineers Make It To The Far North!

When passion becomes purpose, miracles happen. This has been proved by three young mountaineers from Pink City who followed their passion and made it truly evident that there is no peak of the world higher than willpower.

43333392_174455060111325_5302598294730440704_n

Having started their journey of bravery from Tongul village at Kargil on August 27, Rahul Bairwa, Sandeep Saini and Nipun Shashtri climbed for 24 days and achieved the rare feat of scaling 7135 meters of Mount Nun, the highest peak of Himalayan Range lying on the Indian side of LoC.

Having survived the extreme climatic conditions, heavy snowfall for more than 72 hours, lack of oxygen due to the altitude and having lost a friend to hypothermia on the way, did not let their will to conquer the mountain die and they started to climb again on 19th September after having been stranded for almost 9 days due to thunderstorm and snow.

43195422_1078551075602995_4385992986035486720_n

Although most of their team members had climbed down due to extremely bad weather, this trio did not back down and made way for success through their constant struggle and undying motivation.

The motto of these inspiring heroes was to create awareness about waste management and to promote adventure sports in Jaipur.

Team Jaipur Beat congratulates these heroes for their courageous achievement and for having made Jaipur proud.

5 Sports Spaces That Brought Sports to Mainstream in Jaipur

“India wins Olympics under Dhyan Chand’s captaincy”

“Dhoni finishes of in style with a six”

“What a smash by Sania Mirza”

“Rajyvardhan Rathore wins silver at Olympics”

……the list is never ending. Indian athletes never fail to make us proud; no matter they win or lose. Their hard work and dedication towards the nation is beyond comparison. But what makes them unbeatable is the opportunity or platform provided to them. On the ‘National Sports Day’, let’s appreciate those platforms of Jaipur that did not let the sports keeda inside us die 🙂

  1. Sawai ManSingh Stadium

From Dhoni’s phenomenal 183* in ODI and Rahul Dravid’s no loss in 2013 to the record of being the most unbeatable home ground for Rajasthan Royals, this stadium has given us the memories to cherish. The cries of “Indiaaaa-Indiaaaaaa” and “Halla Bolllll” probably still echo here and our “Le Panga” cheers will still be heard as Kabbadi matches continue to be played here.

Additionally, the statue of Arjuna in front of SMS stadium stands as a symbol of pride and honors the sports history of our country. The huge idol that stands out completely represents the excellency of the best warrior of all times.

  1. Rajasthan Polo Club

Rajasthan Polo Club, formerly known as Jaipur Polo Club was established in 1918. Since then it has extensively contributed to sports all over the world. It has had the privilege of hosting teams of South Africa, Zimbabwe, UAE, to USA, Australia, Argentina, UK & Brazil. Apart from Sawai Man Singh, RR Hanut Singh and other local heroes, the matches here have been witnessed by Queen of England, Princess Charles, Princess Diana, Mrs Jacqualine Kennedy and many others. Many of Polo club’s members have achieved the success that is desired by all at international championships. Furthermore, the club has organized several tournaments like Federation International Polo Ambassador Cup, India Independence Golden Jubilee Cup.

  1. Rambagh Golf Club

The origin of the Rambagh Golf Club dates back to 1944 with its history steeped in Royal BackgroundRajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur is the founder of the Club. After she returned from Gulmarg in October 1944 from a holiday where she got keen on playing golf, she asked for the allowance of Late His Highness to lay a Golf Course on the Rambagh Palace grounds. Talking of contemporary world, lately one of its young budding golfers made it to the top ten India ranking. This club has had a major hand in the growth of golf in India.

  1. Chaugan Stadium

Home for teej celebrations and elephant festivals, Chaugan Stadium is one of the ancient and most valued places that have sustained Jaipur’s cultural and sports roots. The word ‘chaugan’ means open land and the arched end of a hockey stick. The sports ground has 3 octagonal stands, that is to say, the “Chini ki Burj” (on the north-west region of the stadium), “Shyam Burj” (on the north) and “Moti Burj” (towards north-east). During the ancient times, each of these areas once served for a specific reason and carry on doing it even today. Not only that, elephant polo matches are also played here.

  1. Rajasthan University

Rajasthan University is the biggest and central university of the state Rajasthan which has built a modern sports complex after the revamping done in 2013. The university has a provision of a variety of games like, chess, carom, volleyball, kabbadi, badminton, table tennis, cricket, swimming, and athletics. Most importantly, the outdoor games are open to public which makes it easier for those who do not have facilities or feasibility to build their own private courts.

We hope that gems continue to emerge from these grounds and wish y’all a very happy ‘National Sports Day’!
